Provided by AGPEsmaeil Baqaei accused United States Central Command of falsely claiming that the targeted Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School was located within a missile-launch site.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Baqaei said:
"The claim by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) that the targeted #Shajareh_Tayyebeh Elementary School in #Minab was located within a "missile launch facility" is a baseless fabrication and an appalling lie,"
His comments followed testimony from CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper during a congressional hearing, where Cooper said the school was situated near an active cruise missile base operated by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. He described the incident as “more complex than the average strike” and said the US military would provide transparency once its investigation is completed.
According to Iranian officials cited in reports, the Feb. 28 strike killed more than 170 people, most of them children attending the school.
