The videos are fast and fun, averaging under 3 minutes. Ilene welcomes comments and questions.

AWMI Joins Conservative Voices To Protest Twitter’s Decision To Block Focus On The Family’s The Daily Citizen

Andrew Wommack Ministries stands with concerned Americans across the country today to express its opposition.

Our concern is that with Focus on the Family’s account being blocked, all Christian conservative organizations could be next”

— Richard Harris, General Counsel for Andrew Wommack Ministries

WOODLAND PARK, COLORADO, UNITED STATES, January 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Andrew Wommack Ministries (AWMI) stands with concerned Americans across the country today to express its opposition to the decision by Twitter to block Focus on the Family’s The Daily Citizen due to an alleged rules violation. Twitter blocked the Christian outlet, even after an appeal. Twitter carried out the account block stating its position that the organization had posted “hateful” content.

“Twitter’s decision is blatant censorship,” said Richard Harris, General Counsel for Andrew Wommack Ministries. “Focus on the Family’s statement poses no danger to anyone and does not incite violence or any other improper behavior. It seems, according to Twitter, simply acknowledging the undisputed fact of a person’s biological gender is now ‘hateful’.”

The tweet posted on @FocusCitizen included this sentence discussing President Biden’s new transgender Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: “Dr. Levine is a transgender woman, that is, a man who believes he is a woman.”

“Our concern is that with Focus on the Family’s account being blocked, all Christian conservative organizations could be next,” said Harris. “If stating the facts from a biblical perspective of what constitutes gender gets you banned, then the freedom to speak of all Christian organizations is in jeopardy.”

“Andrew Wommack Ministries is deeply concerned that there is a coordinated effort to silence those who hold Christian convictions,” Harris said. “We ask all Americans to pray and to speak out to let Big Tech and our elected representatives know that this assault on essential freedom is not acceptable. This targeting of free speech, religious liberty and the whole ‘Cancel Culture’ is a rapidly growing phenomenon that has no end in sight. We must act now.”

For those of you who may be wondering if one person can make a difference, look no further than the Jefferson Awards.”

— David Rawlings

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Over three years ago, Larry Apke and Dave Rawlings, friends since childhood, founded The Job Hackers, a nonprofit dedicated to helping the unemployed, providing a free training program that would normally cost thousands of dollars per person. Since then, they have provided over $2 million of free training. Through their experience, they are helping the unemployed find work and bring diversity to the tech world. For their efforts they were given a Silver Medal from the Jefferson Awards in a virtual ceremony on January 27 and are now in the running for a national award.

In his acceptance speech, David Rawlings, Head of Operations, stated “For those of you who may be wondering if one person can make a difference, look no further than the Jefferson Awards. Each week KPIX profiles someone who is making a difference in the world. Everyone of these individuals is deserving of this award which is why we are even more humbled to be chosen.”

For his part, Larry Apke, Chief Agile Officer, emphasized the Job Hackers community, “While we might be the faces that the public sees, the Job Hackers is a thriving community of over 2000 individuals – volunteers, partners and participants. We accept this award on their behalf.”

The core offering of the Job Hackers is a class commonly referred to as “the Agile MBA”, a course that teaches students Agile and Scrum. It also prepares students to pass the Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) Certification exam. According to LinkedIn, Scrum Masters are well paid and it is one of the fastest-growing professions.

Scrum Masters lead Scrum Teams for the delivery of projects ranging from software development to marketing. Apke volunteers his time to teach the course by Zoom and it has received raved reviews for being insightful, helpful and well put together.

The course normally costs up to $2,000 but is available free of charge to anyone around the world. In lieu of payment, students are asked to give back to their community by volunteering their time.

“We estimate that we’ve given away about $2 million in free training to more than 750 students and added thousands of hours of volunteer time,” said Apke.

Graduates also have access to job listings, resume review services, networking to with a Slack community of nearly 2,000 people and other resources that support a job search.

“Even during the pandemic, about 40 percent of our graduates find a job within 90 days,” said The Job Hackers explained Mr. Apke. “Many find management jobs, with some earning a six-figure income. Registration is open to everyone around the world and there’s no prerequisite.”

The average age of their students is 43, roughly half are minorities, and 60 percent are women, many returning to work after taking care of parents or children. One of the reasons there are a lot of women is because they partner with many women’s groups.

The Job Hackers can also help companies become more competitive by offering the same training in a two-day program. The unique curriculum covers Agile, Scrum, Quality, Product Design and Flow, Systems Thinking, Employee Motivation and more.

The Job Hackers mission is to help candidates find employment. It does this by providing valuable knowledge about Agile and Scrum to prepare them for real-world jobs and working with them and employers to ensure the proper placement of participants.

Nobody at The Job Hackers gets paid. Their mission is accomplished with a corps of volunteers and on a shoestring budget of about $10,000 per year. You can support The Job Hackers cause by making a donation, becoming a partner or shopping at its online store.

“If you need a job, no matter where you are, sign-up for our course. It costs you nothing and it could be the best decision of your life,” said Apke.

Truth & Liberty Coalition Reacts to Twitter's Decision to Block Focus on the Family's THE DAILY CITIZEN

Official Logo for Truth & Liberty Coalition

Targeting of free speech, religious liberty and the whole ‘Cancel Culture” is a rapidly growing phenomenon.

We at Truth and Liberty believe we are experiencing a coordinated effort to silence those of us who hold Christian convictions.”

— Richard Harris, TLC Executive Director

WOODLAND PARK, COLORADO, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Truth & Liberty Coalition is appalled by the decision by Twitter to censor Focus on the Family’s The Daily Citizen due to an alleged rules violation. Twitter blocked the account stating its position that the organization had posted “hateful” content.

“Twitter’s decision is blatant censorship,” said Richard Harris, Truth and Liberty Coalition’s Executive Director. “Focus on the Family’s statement poses no danger to anyone and does not incite violence or any other improper behavior. It seems, according to Twitter, simply acknowledging the indisputable fact of a person’s biological gender is now ‘hateful’.”

“Our concern is that with Focus on the Family’s account being blocked, all Christian conservative organizations could be next,” said Harris. “If stating the facts from a biblical perspective of what constitutes gender gets you banned, then the freedom to speak of all Christian organizations is in jeopardy.”

“Big Tech titans are the new emperors of the twenty-first century, wielding an inordinate amount of power by silencing individuals and organizations that don’t comport or cave to their political or social point of view,” said Jim Daly, president of Focus on The Family.

In recent weeks, other high-profile, outspoken individuals have been banned from social media, including former President Donald Trump and Mike Lindell, CEO and founder of My Pillow.

Other voices silenced include:

· Curt Schilling — had his insurance dropped by AIG; may not make Hall of Fame today because of statements supporting conservative causes

· Brandon Eich — Mozilla CEO, ousted after it was discovered he’d privately given money in support of California’s anti-gay marriage referendum in the past

· Martina Navratilova — thrown off LGBT advocacy board and loses speaking engagements and documentary after arguing that transgender male athletes shouldn’t be able to compete in women’s sports

· JK Rowling — prevented from getting last book published because of tweets making distinctions between the sexes

· Ariel Pink dropped from record label for attending Trump rally, not to mention all of the people who have been fired from jobs for attending the January 6 rally, regardless of whether they even came near the Capitol

· CrossFit founder Greg Glassman forced to sell company after making remarks critical of the rioting last year

“We at Truth and Liberty believe we are experiencing a coordinated effort to silence those of us who hold Christian convictions,” Harris said. “We ask all Americans to pray and to speak out to let Big Tech and our elected representatives know that this assault on essential freedom is not acceptable. This targeting of free speech, religious liberty and the whole ‘Cancel Culture” is a rapidly growing phenomenon that has no end in sight. We must act now.”

HOW PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS HERALD BUILDING DESIGNS WITH THE PANDEMIC IN MIND

HOW PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS HERALD BUILDING DESIGNS WITH THE PANDEMIC IN MIND

The P3 Group Inc is the nations largest African American owned pubic private partnership developer.”

— Dee Brown, President & CEO

MEMPHIS, TN, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Originally Published at Forbes.com
By: Dee Brown, President & CEO of The P3 Group

While 2020 was a year of unprecedented challenges, it was also a year that presented many new opportunities. This has been especially true among those of us developers and architects who are part of robust public-private partnership (P3) collaboratives.

The vast majority of P3s use an integrated project delivery (IPD) method. Delivering public facilities and infrastructure using an IPD method allows the integration of processes, practices and systems in a collaborative approach that captures the collective intelligence of all stakeholders. P3s that use an IPD method tend to result in the best value to the public sector by maximizing overall productivity through the reduction of delivery time and waste.

The current pandemic is forcing design teams to think outside the box to deliver projects in an accelerated time frame. Using an IPD method in conjunction with powerful online collaborative platforms enables design firms to execute unique concepts that must adhere to rigorous budgetary constraints and timelines. Design firms that are part of P3s are also finding it necessary to hire staff members who are determined and nimble, possess an acute technical vocabulary, have excellent listening skills and are highly collaborative.

The value of an IPD method in P3 projects is that it allows facilities to be designed and delivered in record time. A design-build-finance collaborative can have a project under construction in less than 90 days when the team can deliver a guaranteed maximum price, construction documents and financing virtually simultaneously. Rapid project delivery is paramount during a pandemic because access to essential services such as healthcare is critically important. The current pandemic has forced design and construction firms to operate outside of their comfort zones and trust their teams’ ability to create highly collaborative designs during these very challenging times.

Meanwhile, now more than ever before, agencies realize that new facilities must be responsive to the challenges and needs of the community during a pandemic. P3 collaboratives have the unique ability to assist public agencies in addressing weaknesses in public infrastructure that were made painfully obvious over the last year. Government agencies should look at developing community-based facilities, such as health and wellness centers, that can contribute to the public's long-term health and safety.

Health and wellness centers can be crafted specifically to help combat risk factors in the community and region. These facilities can provide a place for the community to engage in health and wellness activities and receive education on nutrition and other related programs. These facilities can be designed to be converted into medical space that can support temporary hospital beds and can also integrate drive-through infectious disease testing facilities with associated laboratories. The additional hospital bed capacity may be critical for the communities when more capacity is needed to save lives or to address routine healthcare needs during a pandemic.

For instance, my firm is involved with two Arkansas projects. A health unit was designed to respond to the current pandemic, featuring elements like a drive-through test site and laboratory, HVAC and mechanical systems meant to prevent airborne disease transmission, and a courtyard where staff could find fresh air and respite. The coroner’s office was designed to feature a decontamination unit that provides an area for the coroner and staff to decontaminate after encountering a deceased individual who may have had an infectious disease. The morgue also has washable walls and floors to allow for easy decontamination. These are all essential elements of designing these types of facilities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The current pandemic has forced P3 collaborative teams to be forward-thinking in their approach to designing public facilities. The integration of design, construction, financing, people, processes and systems is leading to designs that are more robust and can be delivered quickly and efficiently. The pandemic has also increased the efficiency of holding design charrettes, which are now hosted remotely via Zoom, Teams and other similar platforms. Having all stakeholders at the table from the beginning of the process creates outcomes that can only be achieved through collective intelligence.

Defying limits of Pandemic, youth filmmakers reach across language states and oceans to create cultural bonds, and share hopes for a brighter future thru film.

Incredible festival! Amazing films! Youth Diversity Film Festival was really great to be part of. We saw some wonderful independent films and learned lots from other filmmakers. Absolutely fantastic!”

— Evangelina Sarett, Filmmaker-Russia “Adventure in Parallel Universes”

LOS ANGELES, CA, US, January 29, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC) announced today the closing programs of the 11th Annual Youth Diversity Film Festival (YDFF). In its mission to recognize and support the unique talents and voices of youth with the provision and promotion of this visual platform — traditionally brought to the community annually as a live event – the YDFF concludes its 2021 run with two events, “What’s Going On“ Social Justice Video and Panel Discussion, Saturday, January 30th, 1:00PM (PDT) and YDFF Closing Ceremony, Sunday, January 31st, 2:00PM PDT online on BHERC.TV.

The event scheduled for Saturday, January 30th, showcases the 20th anniversary remake of the All-Star video of Marvin Gaye’s agonizingly relevant 1971 hit song “What’s Going On.” This video produced by veteran filmmaker Alcee H Walker, President, Chasing My Dreams Film Group (CMDFG), spotlights youth in the remake. When Mr. Walker put out a casting call, young people from Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Philadelphia, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island answered the call to participate in this moving and collaborative rendition of a song – made before they were born — still represents their sentiments of the issues of the times that they face today as the world explodes around them. After the screening of the video, both the producer and several of the youth cast will participate in a “Making of Panel” moderated by Sandra J. Evers-Manly, President and Founder of BHERC. The students will share their views on social justice, their hopes for the future and what message they hope to send with the video.

Chasing My Dreams Film Group (CMDFG) is a kid-based film production company that provides opportunities for kids from different communities in the film industry. As the leader of CMDFG, Alcee H. Walker is committed to stories that focus on social issues that are authentic and connect to the younger generation. CMDFG films are used as educational tools by holding screenings at schools and by providing lesson plans that align with the schools’ health and wellness curriculum. CMDFG strives to create stories that address social issues that impact our community the most. Tackling issues about families, incarceration, police brutality, violence, kids in school and bullying. The films CMDFG creates are raw and unfiltered and aim to make the audience feel uncomfortable so they can question their perspective and beliefs.

Sunday, January 31st at 2:00PM, the YDFF will hold the Closing Event Moderated by the President and Founder of BHERC Sandra J. Evers-Manly, this special event will spotlight several of the gifted and remarkable youth filmmakers selected from the US and abroad who will share their views and hopes for the future as well as how filmmaking can make a difference and impact the world around them.

The BHERC YDFF was pleased to host the 60 plus films selected for 2021 that were as diverse as the areas they hail from and the young filmmakers they represent including the US, and 14 countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Kenya, Russia, Estonia, Spain, Brazil, Australia, Bangladesh, Korea, Denmark, India, Hungary, and Iran. The filmmakers shared their perspectives with each other online through online social media, round tables, and panels. Discussing their approach to filmmaking, how they got started, who their mentors are and where they want to go in the future with their filmmaking. Supporting each other and sharing their journey. For many, they tackled heavy topics close to their hearts such as social justice, mental health, racial injustice, horror, suicide, and on the lighter side skateboarding, wanting a pet, rap battle, and comedy. The online audiences have been extremely affected as well. Below are a few comments from filmmakers:

• Inam Inam, Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, India: “Charisma” – “We feel happy to see more creative films of talented filmmakers. This is the great platform for all growing generations.”

• Greta Kerkoff, – Mittleton, Colorado: “Leena and Claudia” – “It was wonderful to see so many other people my age who all share a passion for what they do. Everyone’s creativity and expertise has inspired me to move on to my next projects.”

• Luis Lopes, Brockton, Massachusetts: “Hope” – “This festival is a great chance to learn and to teach what you learned to your fellow filmmakers.”

• Alexander McDaniel, Sherman Oaks, CA: “1619” and “Bully Proof Vest” – “As young filmmakers, we can feel a sense of delight watching our films and talking about them!”

• Evangelina Sarett, Novosibirsk, Russia, Russian Federation: “Adventure in parallel Universes” – “Incredible festival! Amazing films! Youth Diversity Film Festival was really great to be part of. We saw some wonderful independent films and learned lots from other filmmakers. Absolutely fantastic, thanks!”

• Beatriz Velloso, Vieira de Ouro Filmes, Sao Paolo Brazil: “My diary at the end of the world: Football Edition” – “I and everyone on the team, we are very happy to participate in this wonderful festival. I have watched every movie and classrooms. And I get tears in my eyes when I see people so passionate about art. That shows us the beautiful cultural diversity, and that we are all human. I learn a lot about culture and what moves people on this small planet. Thank you very much and JESUS bless. In particular I send hugs to the Brazilians who are here too. I loved to know.”

BHERC invites youth, members of the community and industry professionals from the US and across the globe, to join us for this great festival of incredible films online thru Sunday, January 31st. For additional information about BHERC and all of its programs visit www.bherc.org.

DSAA, GiGi's Playhouse Atlanta, and NDSC Condemn Statement Made by
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)

The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta, Gigi's Playhouse Atlanta, and the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) strongly disagree with the decision of House Republicans to appoint Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to the House Education and Labor Committee due to her history of conspiracy theories around school shootings and use of the word "retard” as a pejorative term. "The Down syndrome and disabilities communities are concerned that Rep. Greene's verbiage will distract from the committee's work and that her words truly reflect outdated, damaging beliefs that will negatively impact students with intellectual developmental disabilities (I/DD) for years to come," states Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta Executive Director, Sheryl Arno.

Recently a video that Rep. Greene posted prior to taking office has resurfaced on social media platforms. In her video, Rep. Greene, when speaking of other elected officials, says, "Stupid simple – Retards; I'm sorry, I know that is an offensive word. I am not trying to talk down on people with Down syndrome, but that's what these people are. These people are so stupid and ignorant that they cannot put something common sense in place."

Rep. Greene's statements are particularly damaging to individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual or developmental disabilities as they are more likely to be victims of bullying. Her words promote a culture of casual cruelty toward people with disabilities. NDSC Executive Director David Tolleson said, "Men, women, and children with Down syndrome should never be used as a punch line to make points in a political debate." He continued, "They are people who deserve respect and dignity. Rep. Greene's comments send a message to students, parents, and educators that she believes people with disabilities are not capable of decision-making. Her words and beliefs are a slap in the face to people with disabilities and we do not support her appointment to the Education and Labor Committee."
