“Proper Waste Diversion and Recycling Starts at the SOURCE – IN THE HOME.The Kwik Bagit Eco/System with the reusable poly/ cloth bags will help to save our Environment for a Greener Planet".”

— Harold Sokyrka

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — President and Inventor Harold Sokyrka (President of Kwik Bagit Products International Inc.) launches the Kwik Bagit Eco/System on popular Crowd Funding Platform www.indiegogo.com/kwikbagit.

After 2 years of R&D, this Patent Pending Utility Device is ready for the worldwide marketplace. The easy to use System encourages the use of machine washable Poly/Cloth Bags to reduce the amount of plastic bags entering municipal landfills and recycling depots. The reusable bags will save consumers from buying plastic bags that take over 100 years to decompose and it will also save the environment by reducing the amount of unnecessary single-use, oil-based plastic bags that are entering our landfills.

The “Kwik-Bag-It-Eco-System” is an Eco-Friendly Portable Utility Device that uses Telescopic Rails and Legs that can be reconfigured to fit any debris collecting bags in the marketplace. Primarily used for the collection of compostable organic waste and debris and for the storage of refundable recyclables.

The System also uses exclusive Retainer Clips that hold the bags to the rails of the unit which makes it so easy to fill and unload the bags. Sokyrka says "You no longer need a third arm or second person to hold the bag open while it is being filled. And once the bag is full – you simply release the clips and the bag falls to the ground and the full bag can then be unloaded into the compost or recycling depot. If it requires a cleaning, a simple spray with water will permit the bag to be used hundreds of times.

Another feature of the Kwik Bagit Eco/System is the portable roll-up tabletop, making it an excellent device to take camping, fishing or to a picnic or the beach where the unit not only collects your debris but it can be used to dry your towels and have a place to set your drinks on as well. This Unit is called the "Outback" and it can easily be strapped to a backpack or put into your camper or RV.

There is also a Commercial Pro Model that is used in the construction industry and is excellent for disaster relief clean up saving companies hundreds of dollars spent on single-use plastic bags. The bag on this unit can hold up to 50 lbs of debris, that has canvas straps and can be used dozens of times. Food Truck operators and Street Vending Carts will see a great benefit because the unit not only acts as a portable debris/recycling collector, but it also has a unique new advertising medium, to display their company logo or events. Tailgaters will love it because they can customize the bag with their favorite team logo. Community and School sports teams, choirs and bands will find this to be an excellent fundraising unit, as it will help to raise money for their organization and advertise their team logo at the same time.

The new sign medium will be another advantage to the homeowner as well as real estate companies because the unit can be secured to the ground to advertise signage for garage sales, house sale or rental suites, and for open house events.

During the launch of the Crowdfunding Campaign on IndieGoGo, the Kwik Bagit Eco/System will range in price from $19 US to $54 US, with volume discounts for multiple orders. Every pledge will receive a Complimentary Leak Proof Compost Bag that has a Zipper Seal that keeps odors in while compost from the kitchen is collected. This simple household bag will help to divert valuable compost material to the residence compost bin or from sending it to the landfill.

As municipalities all over the world struggle with trying to improve Waste Diversion, Compositing and Recycling Practices they are now burdened even more due to China's tough policy of now refusing any more recyclable material from offshore. As a result, Recycling Depots are scrambling to find alternative buyers and measures to deal with the stockpiling of recyclable materials, consequently now much of which is now ending up in the landfills because they have no place to sell it.

Sokyrka states that “Proper recycling starts AT THE SOURCE – in the HOME and by using cloth bags we will reduce the amount of unneeded and unwanted oil-based, oxo-degradable plastic bags from entering the municipal landfills.” He goes on to say, "Our USE ONCE – and DISCARD ATTITUDE needs to change". Sokyrka has also developed a Community Based Seminar called "DIVERT-RECYCLE and REUSE which is a 2-day seminar designed to educate the public about proper waste diversion techniques. This seminar can be purchased on the Indiegogo Crowd Funding Campaign as well.

He also goes on to say: "As more and more municipalities begin to realize that OIL BASED, OXO-DEGRADABLE PLASTICS BAGS are bad for our environment there will be more emphasis on discouraging residences and businesses from using plastic bags. Aside from having an outright ban on the use of plastic bags – the simple solution is to switch to using PolyCloth Bags that can be washed and used hundreds of times. This could be the beginning of a new approach to smarter waste diversion, and improved composting and recycling practices so that we can to strive for a “GREENER PLANET” and to help our Fragile Environment"!

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Distinctive Schools will be holding its inaugural gala on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Chicago, IL. This important fundraising event will raise money to support Distinctive Schools’ students, schools, and school communities.

At the event, students from the Chicago Children’s Choir will perform, and videos and speeches featuring teachers, students, and network leaders will be presented. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about each school’s history, celebrations, and highlights in campus spotlight presentations. Also, the inaugural Distinctive Citizen Award will be presented to the first honoree, Desirée Rogers, by the Distinctive Citizen Committee Chair, Ron Huberman.

Rogers has worked for a governor, mayor, and the President of the United States, as well as several corporate positions. Today, as a breast cancer survivor, she serves on the cabinet of the Conquer Cancer Foundation. She is also the Chair of Choose Chicago, the tourism bureau of the City of Chicago and on the boards of World Business Chicago, Donors Choose, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

“What’s special about Desirée — she cuts right to the heart of so many issues and is so deeply passionate about trying to find a way to make a difference,” stated Huberman. “It’s an honor to present her this award. Desirée’s drive and ambition has served many communities and the people she has been able to touch through her endeavors.”

The mission of Distinctive Schools is to support each child in becoming an engaged and curious learner, as well as ensure that each and every one of its students thrive in college, career and life. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support from the community.

“The generosity of our supporters and community knows no bounds,” stated Joseph Wise, Co-Founder and CEO at Distinctive Schools. “We are incredibly thankful to all of the individuals and organizations who have partnered with and contributed to Distinctive Schools.”

Distinctive Schools currently manages four kindergarten to eighth grade elementary schools in Chicago: Chicago International Charter School (CICS) Bucktown, CICS Irving Park, CICS Prairie, and CICS West Belden. At the start of the 2017-2018 school year, Distinctive Schools expanded into metro-Detroit, opening Distinctive College Prep (DCP): Harper Woods, a kindergarten to fourth grade charter school and continued expansion this year in opening DCP: Redford. DCP: Redford currently serves students in kindergarten to third grade. Both metro-Detroit campuses have plans to add a grade level each year to serve students in kindergarten to eighth grade.

“The dedication of the Distinctive Schools team to their mission and the students that they serve is impressive,” added Huberman. “Distinctive Schools is making a real difference in education today, and I’m looking forward to celebrating that at the gala.”

The night will be capped off with a silent auction, and the amount raised will touch the lives of thousands of children across Chicago and metro-Detroit.

U-Are Technologies Research Brief: Artificial Intelligence in Health Care.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Scientists and researchers all over the world are very excited about advancements in innovation that have arisen from an innate desire to create newer and better technologies that facilitate mankind to extend beyond its own physical constraints. The promise of AI, once purely science fiction, promises much. Since its inception, AI has been deployed for highly selective defence or space exploration applications wherein its success has evolved around risk mitigation.

Many industries are about to be disrupted by this evolving technology. At U-Are Technologies, we are highlighting how AI can be applied to the healthcare industry through AI-based systems that allow for better diagnosis, cure and treatment of debilitating conditions.

Scope of AI in medicine

Increased integration of intelligent AI tools (along with AR and VR) in everyday medical applications could improve the
efficiency of treatments and avoid costs by minimising the risks of false diagnosis, facilitate more targeted pre-operative planning, and reduce the risk of intra-operative complications.

The recent usage of AI in performing sophisticated tasks and computations has gradually led it to be introduced as a key component of MRI and computed tomography systems (CAT Scans). The added advantage of these systems is in the ability to effectively acquire information, and sync with established decision support databases such as those containing patent history. Further, AI has begun transforming the field of surgical robotics where it has enabled the advent of robots that perform semi-automated surgical tasks with increasing efficiency. As the technology matures, it is over coming one of the key challenges faced in robotics which is mimicking human body motion. In addition, recent advances in the field of AI such as neural networking, natural language processing, image recognition, and speech recognition / synthesis research, has started to spur creativity. Pairing this technology with Augmented Reality, the future of robotics within the medical sphere looks very bright indeed.

Smart AI apps are beginning to be used today in clinical practice for automation of routine tasks and for other functions listed below:

Alerts and reminders are most general forms of AI integration: The machine scans a patient’s lab results, drug orders, and updates the patient with an appropriate reminder. Advanced AI programs can be directly interfaced with a patient monitor and used for detecting changes in a patient’s condition.
Diagnostic Help.

Therapy fore-planning: Specific conditions that require elaborate treatment plans could benefit from AI tools during therapy planning. By incorporating an AI system that can automatically formulate plans based on specific conditions would add certain value to the physicians as well as patients.
Information Retrieval: AI software search apps can be created that constantly search the web for new knowledge or data that adds to diagnosis. All information is upgraded automatically here.
Image Interpretation: Multiple medical images can be instantaneously identified, from plane X-rays through to highly complex images like angiograms, CT, and MRI scans. Such systems for image recognition and interpretation have increasingly been adopted for clinical use, for example in detection of cancer or other abnormalities.

Insights on current systems using AI

Agilent Technologies (Andover, Massachusetts) has developed a smart ECG device that estimates the probability of acute
cardiac ischemia/ACI. This ACI time-insensitive predictive instrument holds good promise in increasing the accuracy of diagnosing ACI.

Intelligent Medical Imaging, Inc. (Florida) has designed the Micro21 microscopy workstation that successfully integrates neural network technology into blood analysis to identify and display white blood cells as well as red blood cells.

ATL Ultrasound, Inc. (Seattle-based firm) has developed a range of diagnostic ultrasound systems for imaging and monitoring cardiac tissue structures and activity. This system utilises an adaptive intelligence algorithm to scrutinise tissues by optimising millions of parameters during a patient examination, thereby eliminating irrelevant frequencies in returned signals.

Neuromedical Systems, Inc. (New Jersey) uses an application of neural networks to scan Pap smears and identify cells for review during cancer screening.

Apps like Babylon in the UK use AI to give medical consultation based on personal medical history and common medical knowledge. Users report their symptoms into the app, which uses speech recognition to compare against a database of illnesses. Babylon then offers a recommended action, taking into account the user’s medical history.

The startup Sense.ly has developed Molly, a digital nurse to help people monitor patient’s condition and follow up with treatments, between doctor visits. The program uses machine learning to support patients, specialising in chronic illnesses.

Developing pharmaceuticals through clinical trials can take more than a decade and cost billions of dollars. Making this process faster and cheaper could change the world. Amidst the recent Ebola virus scare, a program powered by AI was used to scan existing medicines that could be redesigned to fight the disease.

The program found two medications that may reduce Ebola infectivity in one day, when analysis of this type generally takes months or years – a difference that could mean saving thousands of lives.

Some of the key influencing factors like maturity attained by the AI systems, user acceptance, and glitches in
communications along with technical infrastructure continue to stand as barriers to the commercialisation opportunities that currently exist for AI. However, given that ongoing innovations in this domain are moving so fast from academia and theory into reality are proof of the growing momentum in this field.

Call for collaboration:

At U-Are Technologies, We are in the business finding and applying future technologies to real world problems through immersive, visually rich solutions that engage users and drive customer satisfaction. We have recently introduced an incubation service for new and emerging technologies within AI, AR and VR. If you have an idea or technology that requires development, marketing and investment then do get in touch.

Tommy Swanhaus says the mobile phone is the best way to communicate with your audience or customers

Tommy Swanhaus in Dallas Texas for mobile marketing

Tommy Swanhaus, a leader in mobile marketing is helping companies succeed and have big growth through his text message marketing.

Text message marketing is simple and it works and, according to Forbes, 99 percent of texts are read within five minutes, plus it's 100 percent spam-free.”

— Tommy Swanhaus

NEW YORK, NY, USA, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Tommy Swanhaus, marketing expert and entrepreneur, has recently declared he is concentrating solely on the power of the mobile phone and the mobile platform. Mr. Swanhaus has been at the forefront of the mobile phone industry for over 10 years by understanding the power of it and how to use the mobile platform properly to connect with one's clientele or target audience. He created for Playboy Enterprises Inc. a non-nudity branded series that was declared by industry insiders and experts as the first success on the mobile platform. The series was in partnership with mobile carrier AT&T and went on to get global recognition, along with high distinctions and a Streamy Award Nomination.

Tommy Swanhaus is now utilizing his marketing expertise and prior mobile phone experience as a consultant specializing in mobile marketing or text messaging communication. He has recently joined the Connecticut-headquartered company SenText Solutions as a mobile marketing consultant. SenText is a mobile marketing company that, in simple terms, uses text messaging to communicate with a client's clientele and customers and to grow their business.

Mr. Swanhaus will be partnering with small businesses, franchises and large corporations throughout Arkansas and Texas, along with organizations all over the United States. SenText, which has an easy-to-use platform and does over nine million text messages a month, has clients in every type of business. The clients range from big global companies, such as McDonald's and Subway, to small mom-and-pop restaurants, clothing stores, merchants, etc.

Tommy Swanhaus says, "Text message marketing is simple and it works and, according to Forbes, 99 percent of texts are read within five minutes, plus it's 100 percent spam-free." Text message marketing is perfect to increase consumer engagement and a business' consumer database with such text message advertising techniques as Text to Win, where a consumer texts two words to be entered in a random drawing and the client chooses the prizes. Mr. Swanhaus says, "Clients use our platform in numerous ways, such as Text to Join, Text to Donate, Links to Social, Photos or Video, etc. Some food or restaurant clients use text messages to promote their online ordering, delivery or reservation provider links, while other clients use Text Message Marketing for sales, promotions, surveys and VIP rewards."

The use of text message marketing goes on and on with such things as promo codes to increase trackable sales online, instant lead generation, a way to build reviews, event reminders and more. Tommy Swanhaus says, "The best part about our text message platform is that with one single text, you can reach your entire customer base instantly and start getting engagement with your customers in only a few minutes. It is the most efficient and effective way to do one-to-one communication. It no doubt gives you the best bang for your dollar or return on investment."

With an opt-in approach, SenText's platform is completely legal and compliant while other services may not be. The success of the text message platform is based around three key pillars: Promote and garner subscribers; Engage and send out offers and announcements; and Response where businesses see an increase in traffic, sales and clients.

Tommy Swanhaus ends by saying, "When I partner with a company, I treat that business as if it was my own business. Being an entrepreneur, I understand and can relate to these business owners. I understand what these owners have invested, in terms of financial investments, sweat equity and the emotional rollercoaster they go through to get their business to where it is today. Being in their situation before, I wish that I had this text messaging service when I was trying to grow my businesses. I truly believe my text messaging service I offer is a no-brainer if a merchant of any size wants to grow their business online or offline. Why wouldn't you partner with me?"

The Clearwater Community Volunteers Center Hosts Monthly Networking Luncheon

Representatives of 13 non-profits network at Clearwater Community Volunteers Center in downtown Clearwater

Tampa Bay Area nonprofits learn networking skills at the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center Charity Networking Luncheon.

These guests have learned a skill that enables them to openly communicate with anyone and move forward to accomplish their group’s mission.”

— Clemence Chevrot, Director for the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, USA, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — On the 30th of October the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center held its monthly Charity Networking Luncheon for Tampa Bay nonprofits to network and form new partnerships. The luncheon was the most diverse to date with 13 different nonprofits in attendance whose activities vary from disaster preparedness, environmental restoration, to educating children.

“The Clearwater Community Volunteers Center works with over 45 different nonprofits and the luncheon is another way for them to meet one another.” said Clemence Chevrot, Director for the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center.

Ms. Chevrot was the luncheon’s keynote speaker. Ms. Chevrot has worked in the non-profit field for the past five years, both across Europe and here in the United States. This work has included human rights advocacy and disaster relief. After the complimentary lunch, Ms. Chevrot delivered a short workshop on how to get into communication with anyone. Wanting to get the attendees into immediate action, her workshop concluded with an exercise where guests used this knowledge to get an otherwise non-talkative person to communicate with them.

Ms. Chevrot said, “It can sometimes be frustrating trying to communicate with another person who doesn’t want to talk. However, communication is vital to the smooth running of any non-profit organization – it’s how you form new partnerships, get new volunteers for your cause or getting donations. Like philosopher L. Ron Hubbard once wrote, ‘A man is as dead as he can’t communicate. He is alive as he can communicate.’ These guests have learned a skill that enables them to openly communicate with anyone and move forward to accomplish their group’s mission.”

The next luncheon will be on November 27th and is open to non-profit groups or volunteers. For information about the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center please call Michael Soltero at (727) 316-5309 or email ccvcenter@ccvfl.org.

About the Clearwater Community Volunteers:

GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND, US, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — AUXILIUM TECHNOLOGY LENDS ITS EXPERTISE FOR NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH

THE REGION’S LEADING DIGITAL MARKETING FIRM EDUCATES YOUTHS ABOUT BEST PRACTICES IN DIGITAL SECURITY

(Gaithersburg, MD. October 25) In recognition of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Quince Orchard High School hosted the cybersecurity awareness presentation “Stop.Think.Connect”. Contributing to this presentation was Nenette Day, Assistant Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Scott Rebein, Licensed Private Investigator with SFR Consulting & Advisory, and Ed Samuels, Chief Technology Officer of Auxilium Technology. Together these presenters provided their extensive experience and knowledge in areas of cybersecurity to help students better protect themselves against pervasive digital threats. National Cyber Security Awareness Month is a national initiative that helps build awareness among the public for digital safety and security.

Keeping Students Safe

Students attending the presentation learned about best practices in digital security as it relates to their daily use of social media, websites, and devices. The mission of the presenters was to speak directly to the specific digital threats posed to high school students and provide measures that they can take to minimize vulnerability and exposure.

The presentation developed by Auxilium Technology took a holistic approach to cybersecurity, covering issues of both technical and social nature. Topics covered ranged from social media etiquette, mobile device security, to address the pervasive threat of identity
theft to youth today.

Each presenter provided insights based on their respective areas of expertise, and in general, contributed to each topic of discussion. Special Agent Nenette Day spoke about her experience in investigating threats on social media posed by falsified accounts that prey on students and forge their identities. Private Investigator Scott Rebein spoke to the importance of online reputation management and the necessity of being aware of your digital footprint. Moreover, Auxilium Technology's CTO Ed Samuels provided knowledge in technical practices for securing your information on devices and websites, and vulnerabilities.

The presentation also featured a question and answer portion that allowed students to pose questions to each presenter. Audience members were able to ask questions of specific interest to them, such as number versus pattern lock device security. Questions about Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and the dark web were of particular interest to audiences’ members. Students were able to engage in conversation with presenters and take away valuable information that can help them in their daily lives.

Building Awareness and Interest

Another objective of this presentation was to provide insights into the professions linked to the cybersecurity industry. Auxilium Technology supports interest in areas of study related to Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math (STEM). The growing demand for professionals in the field of cybersecurity means promising career opportunities await students who focus on those areas of study. In support of Project Lead The Way, an organization that promotes and educates students in STEM-related subjects, "Stop.Think.Connect" seeks to manifest interest in the fields that support cybersecurity. In generating interest in these critical fields, Auxilium aims to expose students to new career possibilities, and secure our digital safety going into the future.

Giving Back to The Community

Auxilium Technology has an established reputation for education and awareness in matters of cybersecurity, which includes contributions to National Cybersecurity Month in previous years. As a leader in digital marketing, Auxilium possesses extensive knowledge and experience in digital best practices. In providing this education as early as high school, students can ensure that their information and reputation is safe going into adulthood.

When asked about why Auxilium contributes time and resources to this cause, CTO Ed Samuels states: "At Auxilium, we understand the complex nature of these digital threats. Unfortunately, our youth/elderly are most vulnerable to these threats and are a focus for cybercriminals. That's why we chose to develop this cybersecurity presentation specifically for high school students. By providing education on these subjects early on, these students can take actions today that will protect themselves now, and into the future."

Leading by Example

Auxilium Technology devotes considerable time and resources to securing their client's websites from cyber-attack and information theft. These efforts include cybersecurity assessments that measure potential threats to each unique website. Moreover, through systematic cybersecurity testing, Auxilium deploys advance tools that seek out vulnerabilities and identifies them before cybercriminals have the opportunity to exploit them. Through this routine practice of cybersecurity, Auxilium has built extensive knowledge and experience that they provide back to the community through efforts such as "Stop.Think.Connect."
