PORTLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, November 22, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Recycle your Bicycle is a nonprofit organization that partners with ABC 15, Earnhardt Auto Centers and the Boy Scouts of America to collect used bicycles and restore them to like new condition. Once restored, they are donated to children in foster care.
Education, Travel & Culture (ETC) participated in this year’s event by working in the detail area. ETC exchange students and host families volunteered 100 hours of their time and used their skills to help clean and polish hundreds of bikes to be given as Christmas presents to children around the valley. One ETC host mom said, “The detail area is the most fun. I picture in my mind the look on the child's face when they see the bike on Christmas morning.”
ETC is committed to inspiring young people to get involved in their communities and for ETC students, to give back to the communities who have so graciously opened their hearts and homes to them for a semester or school year.
Education, Travel & Culture is a nonprofit [501 (c)(3)] educational exchange organization. Its purpose is to promote international understanding and goodwill by providing high quality educational and cultural exchange programs in the United States and abroad. ETC provides inbound program opportunities for high school students throughout the world to study in an American high school and live with an American family.
